The Tortilla Story

My wife, Jane and I, started Tortilla Modern Mexican back in September 2012 armed with nothing but a love for Mexican food, a shoe-string budget and a goal to change the way South African’s think about fast food.

At the time, we were frustrated by the lack of quality, fast-food options available in South Africa that we had become so accustomed to in our time living overseas.

So we began experimenting with some of our very own family Mexican recipes – many late nights and even a trip to the US (the actual Burrito capital of the world – strange hey?) were spent enhancing our secret ‘Tortilla Familia Recipes!’

Five years on and Tortilla has solved all our earlier frustrations by serving quality slow cooked food at fast-food speeds, exactly the way we had dreamed way back in 2012!
